Keith Barger is a Managing Director in BDO Consulting’s Forensic Technology Services practice, with nearly 20 years of multidisciplinary investigative experience, specializing in providing data analytics, computer forensics and e-discovery services. A Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer, a Certified Forensic Examiner, a Certified PDA Examiner, and a Certified Cellular Telephone Examiner who has held a Top Secret Security Clearance, Mr. Barger has significant experience in digital forensic investigations and methodologies, electronic evidence recovery, and has provided expert witness testimony.
Skilled in leading complex, high profile investigations, Mr. Barger assists global organizations and their counsel with matters related to financial reporting fraud, employee misconduct, anti-money laundering, corruption, and international disputes. Mr. Barger oversees divestitures, as well as mergers and acquisitions, reporting to the Committee on Foreign Investment in the U.S (CFIUS). He helps clients develop litigation readiness services, addressing issues and compliance related to the Amended Rules of Federal Civil Procedure, mapping electronically stored information (ESI) and improving automated process flow across legal, information technology and business units.
Prior to joining BDO, Mr. Barger led the national Forensic Technology Services practice at Grant Thornton LLP, in addition to leading the firm’s Forensic Accounting and Investigations practice in the Houston market. He previously served as a Director in the Forensic practice for a Big Four firm. Mr. Barger also spent six years as a Special Agent and Digital Forensics and E-Discovery Western Regional Coordinator with the Department of Treasury and Department of Justice with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.
