David Berliner is a Partner in the New York office of BDO Consulting. He is a Certified Insolvency and Restructuring Advisor, Certified Turnaround Professional and Certified Public Accountant with twenty years of experience in matters involving business restructurings, bankruptcy and insolvency, transaction due diligence and accounting and forensic investigations. Mr. Berliner leads the Business Restructuring services practice.

• Mr. Berliner has been involved in many complex bankruptcies and work-out situations representing unsecured creditors, debtors, and secured lenders.

• He has significant experience in bankruptcy and restructuring matters involving the retail, manufacturing, distribution and service industries.

• Mr. Berliner has served as financial advisor for clients in matters involving American Home Mortgage, Pillowtex, Copeland Sports, Bachrach Clothing, BCP Management, DMX Music, NHL/Buffalo Sabres, Daewoo Motors America, Rag Shops, Archibald Candy and Filene’s Basement.

• He is experienced in providing testimony at deposition and in bankruptcy court, as well as assisting attorneys with a range of services pursuant to trial including reviewing and analyzing financial documents, developing questions for deposition and trial testimony, evaluating testimony of witnesses and preparing and responding to interrogatories.

• Mr. Berliner has led numerous financial due diligence engagements on behalf of buyers pursuing M&A transactions, as well as on behalf of secured lenders involving issues such as asset-based loans, cash flow loans and quality of earnings engagements to both healthy and troubled companies.
