Accountants’ Liability
BDO Consulting’s accountants’ liability professionals help counsel evaluate audit and accounting professional liability claims against accounting firms and accountants. Our professionals offer testimony before federal and state courts, the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and other regulatory bodies.
We have assisted counsel for major accounting firms with some of the largest accounting liability matters involving highly complex transactions and alleged damages in the hundreds of millions of dollars. We provide clients with immediate access to experienced certified public accountants, certified fraud examiners, forensic accountants, computer forensics and e-discovery specialists, and licensed private investigators.
We assist clients in developing effective responses to allegations relating to:
- Violations of professional standards, including generally accepted auditing standards and Public Company Accounting Oversight Board standards
- Failure to detect fraudulent financial reporting or misappropriation of assets
- Lack of independence or other ethics matters
